How to lose weight..?

I'm 19. I weigh anywhere from 160 to 170. Not sure. I had lost weight and gotten down to about 158 if I remember correctly, but then I had a crazy month and gained it all back. I'm 19 so I'm not eligible for food stamps. I'm also a vegetarian. How can/what can I buy food wise that is healthy, vegetarian and would last me a bit so that I could stay on track? And could someone help me out with figuring out a workout routine? If ya can. Basically, how much of what do I need to eat and how many times a day in order to lose weight and keep it off. Thanks!

  1. It works to me.What you need to do is walk every date from 1/2 hour to 1 hour.start walking 1/2 hours and increase slowly until you get 1 hour.be pasient you will lose waith .eat a lite lest,but you can eat the same thing.I lose 40 kg in only one year!


  2. Keeping a food journal really does help.  It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

    Make a few small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days.  Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer.

    Start a weight lifting routine. It will help increase your metabolism and make you feel and look better in so many ways. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall.

    In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat cheese, natural peanut buttter, hummus, yogurt, dried fruit and nuts. Drink plenty of water. You will begin to see changes in your body.

    jump rope 100 times

    lunch veggie soup

    jog 45 mins with 5 pound weighs in hands.

    snack 2 tomato's

    10 push ups and 10 sit up

    dinner what ever mom/dad fixes

    15 push up 15 sit up.

Stop drinking soda and start running.  I did that...not cutting back on any desserts or really doing other workouts and lost lots of weight quick.  My doctors actually thought I was anorexic cause 1 day i come in pushin 200 and a little over a month later im at 160.  Adding a weight-lifting regiment will help build muscle obviously...but that inturn burns more fat.

    May not work for everybody but it worked for me.

  6. Remember that everyone has their own set weight.  So your body naturally tries to keep you at that weight.

    A good example is me who after 5 years, has sustained the weight of about 110 lbs.  I don't really exercise or anything.  I guess I don't over eat either.

    Basically, to lost weight, you have to burn off more than you eat.

    If you lose weight too fast though, it will prove to be a waste because your body will naturally try to gain it all back.

    You're going to have to change your body's set weight point and lower it.  To do this, you need to very gradually lose weight.

    Try exercising for at least an hour or two a day with cardiovascular exercises and eat SMALL portions of food throughout the day instead of the basic breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Doing this will help to speed up your metabolism.

    Also, waking up early and exercising (cardiovascular exercises) will help to speed up your metabolism.

  8. Drink water.It will keep you from wanting food.If you don't like plain water add a no-calorie sweetener to it or eat celery.

    Excersize regualarly.

    Remember it doesn't have to be hair to excersize.Take the dog for a walk or go for a 30 minute jog in the morning.Walk to work or get a dance DVD.
