How to make French fries like Macdonald at home? ?

  4. I agree, they are the best fries. However, you won't be able to replicate them at home. They use McCain fries - however, special ones which are dipped in beef broth. We can't buy them frozen like other McCain products.

  8. shoe string french fries, then put then on the stove in a pan of oil when its boiling then wait till they get golden brown take them out and put them on a paper towel napkin then add salt depending on how many fries you want is depending on how much salt you'll use

If you don't have a deep frier, you can use a saute pan or something but a deep frier is best.  Cut fresh potatoes into thin slices like McDonalds.  Put them in the fryer with HOT vegetable oil (some people use canola oil).  Oil has to be high enough (if using saute pan) so that potatoes are completely covered.  Fry in the oil until light golden brown.  Remove with a slotted spoon that is appropriate to put in the hot oil-- put on paper towels to drain oil.  Optional at this point: you can sprinkle with onion and/or garlic powder.  After a couple of minutes of cooling and sitting on paper towel, put BACK into the very hot oil and cook again for just a minute or two until a nice golden brown.  Then remove, put on paper towels again, salt to your taste and enjoy!  By the way -- cooking twice is the true way to make French fries and they taste way better!
