How to make Southern Style Sweet Tea that tastes like Arizona Tea?

I LOVE my sweet tea. I've recently discovered Arizona Southern Style Sweet Tea in the can and have to say I much prefer the taste to the tea I've been brewing for years. My method is this:

Two Lipton iced tea bags, in a pitcher of boiling sugar water (about 8 cups of water with a cup of sugar added). I let that steep for an hour or two, depending on how much time I have and then top the pitcher off with ice.

It's sweet tea for sure, but WOW is that Arizona stuff good!

  1. i'm from the south, so i should know!!  LOL!!! my friends love my sweet tea!!  heres how you do it!

use a coffee maker, clen it out so you don't taste coffee!!

put five or six lipton tea bags in where you would put the coffee grinds, then fill the pot up to where it has the 8 cup line with water, pour it into the top, let it brew, but while that is brewing, get a one gallon pitcher and add as much sugar as you normally would(i put two cups), when the tea is done (while it is still hot) put it in the pitcher with the with the sugar and stir it until the suger is dissolved, then fill the rest of the pitcher up with water, and stir again. the tea wil be warm for bit, just put it in the fridge, because it's better when it is cold!!!

  2. I use a four cup measuring cup filled will water. Add seven teabags (Luzianne) and microwave for 4 minutes. Let stand for a minute or two then squeeze the tea bags and discard. Add one cup of sugar to hot tea (helps disolve sugar) then pour the four cups of tea into a gallon jug (pitcher if you're a yankee) and fill to top. Perfect sweet tea, just pour over ice.

extra tip: If you are making a large batch for an outing (picnic or reunion) freez a gallon of tea and use it as ice in the Igloo cooler (using a plastic milk jug works great because you can use scissors to cut it away from the ice/tea when you're ready to use it). As it melts it will not dilute your tea.

  3. You should boil the water, then add the tea bags.

let steep for 45 min. then put the tea concentrate in your gallon pitcher and add your sugar.

make sure the sugar dissolves completely then add water to fill up the gallon.

don't put it in the refrigerator at first. let it sit out for about an hour. this gives it time to combine.

    Pour over ice and serve..

I work for a southern coffee and tea company, I use this tea at home and everyone loves it. its called orange piko and piko cut black, its basically black tea.

If you want to try it, you can order it at this web site.
