How to make WAN ip to static ip

i have router connection but i donot have any static ip

my router is connected some wan ip

now i want static ip so how to use my WAN ip

  1. Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) assigns you a "WAN" IP.  This allows you to communicate on the Internet.  If you would like this IP to be static, contact your ISP.  Some will give you a static IP at an additional charge.  Some will not.


  2. You can't change that to static, it's specified by your ISP (usually via DHCP).

    You have 2 options:

    1. Call the ISP and sign up for a business connection that includes a static IP at additional cost

    2. Get a Dynamic DNS service (e.g. DynDns.com) and use the domain name instead of your IP...some routers (read their FAQs to make sure yours is compatible, Linksys built-in updater had trouble and was locked out for a while) have the update client built-in, otherwise you can download software to run on your server that updates corretly.
