Next follow the instructions below:

Connect the included adapter onto the end of your memory card. This is required only for the Mini Card formats.

Insert the card into your card reader.

Plug your card reader into an available USB port on your computer.

Wait for your system to find the USB Storage Device

Open a "My Computer" window

Right Click on the drive letter associated with your card reader.

Select "Format" from the right click menu.

A dialog box such as the one shown below will open. IMPORTANT… click the down arrow under the "File System" section of the dialog box and select "FAT" as the File System. DO NOT select FAT32 or NTSF.

Under the "Format Options" section select the "Quick Format" option.

Click on the "Start" button to begin the format process. Do not select any other options. When the format is complete close the format dialog box

but when in the end it says it cannot be formatted what should i do

  1. U try and select FAT32...it works sometimes...

  2. because its already been formatted

  3. What device are you going to be using it in? You can format SD card in most cameras that use them. If you can't format the card from another device - replace card. If you can't format it from your computer only - maybe try different card reader.
