How to make a balance beam help?

i want to get a balance beam for myself but they are way to expensive online and i would like to make one. what do i need? what to do think the cost would be too? i do not want one that is low to the ground im looking for middle height that you can dismount off of. any help here? thanks

I think anyone who is handy with tools and wood should be able to build one. It doesn't look too hard. It appears that there are several websites to help you. Make a list of things you need and then visit Home Depot or whatever you have that is similar and see how much it would cost. My guess is that will be in the $100-150 range looking at what the regulation size needs to be.
