How to make a blue fire.

how can i make a blue flame? Im not rich so how can i make it brillient blue without alot of chemicals?

If your 21 go but some Bacardi 151... pour into something and light it on fire.

Be carefull though... the flame is sometimes clear but with the lights off it's blue.

Copper metal on its own will not produce any blue flames.  You may see brief flashes of green, but that's about it.  The blue color of fireworks using copper comes not from copper metal, but from copper monochloride radicals in the flame.  These will form in flames if there is a chlorine donor present and the flame is not too hot.

For the chlorine donor, ammonium chloride (sal ammoniac, sometimes sold to clean soldering irons) works very well, producing intense blue and green flames.  In pyrotechnics, chlorinated polymers (PVC, chlorinated rubber...) are often used, but these can produce nasty fumes.  You can also use a copper compound instead of copper metal - cupric sulfate can be used with HCl or ammonium chloride, and cupric chloride can be used as/is.  Cupric sulfate without a chlorine donor will give a green flame.

As mentioned before, alcohols and other organic liquids will often burn with a dull blue flame, but it is not very bright.

take a piece of copper pipe and then put a piece of rubber hose in the pipe and throw it in a fire and there you go

Copper metal in a fire works well, the smaller the pieces the better.  Fine copper wire or the copper scouring pads are good for this.

the colour depends on the fuel used and the intensity of heat solid fuel like coal will cause red or orange flames liquid fuels usually cause a blue flame

i know copper tends to glow blue when lit.

Also, cool trick i figured out.. if you have a safe un-flammable counter type like marble or granite maybe,  then spray a bunch of body spray down on the counter.. turn out the lights and set fire to it.

Get a bunsen burner and then cover the barrel to get a non-luminous flame (which is blue fire).
