  1. The website that you posted clearly shows what you wanted. Let me explain.

New Delhi - Hyderabad distance = 1677 Kms

New Delhi - Bhopal distance =           701 Kms

    The rule says

    1) You can break a journey for on a single journey ticket of more than 500 kms . Since NDLS to Hyderabad is 1677 Kms , this is allowed

    2) The break in journey can be for maximum of 2 days excluding the day of depature and arrival

    3) The break is permitted only after travelling a distance of 500 Kms. Since Bhopal is 701 Kms from NDLS this is allowed.

    4) This has to be done at the time of reservation and cannot be done after purchasing the ticket.

    5) Endorsement has to be got from the station of  alightment ie: Bhopal , from Station Manager/TTE

    6) If the total distance is  more than 2000 kms , 2 such break journeys are permitted.

    7) You cannot break a journey just in short of the arrival station . Ie you cannot break your journey at secunderabad.

    8) Not available on Rajdhani/Shatabdi trains

Hope this clears your doubt. You can cancel the ticket and rebook with the break in journey. The best advice would be though is to contact the ticket booking office of Railways
