How to make a computer re-direct phone calls?

i am making a business and i need my phone line to go into my computer and if its a certain number than i need it to call somewhere else.

  1. You probably want to speak with a small business telecommunications consultant about Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Software and the equipment necessary for it.


  2. You may be able to accomplish this with NCH Swift Sound IVM Answering Attendant software:

    However, it may be easier to administer what you want by using a VoIP service such as GrandCentral or CallCentric.

    GrandCentral will forward all calls based on how you tag them in your GC contact list.  So, calls from certain numbers can be forwarded to a specified number.  GrandCentral is still in beta development phase, but is currently free to use.

    You may find more flexibility with CallCentric.  They have a feature called "Call Treatments".  With Call Treatments, you can have calls (based on the calling number) redirected to any number you specify.  It is very flexible and is customizable by time of day too.

    To use the Call Treatments and Call Forwarding features, you do not actually have to use any VoIP hardware.  Just purchase an area code phone number (DID - direct inbound dialing number) and then configure your admin panel to forward the calls based on your preferred criteria.
