I saw how they make cruise ships on the discovery channel .it's a long hard process and is too complicated to tell here, but nevertheless, amazing. The cabins are made in one place and brought to the ship when it's time. Just about everything is made somewhere else, then thay bring it all together like a giant puzzle. I hope you can see this sometime.

More broadly, there are three or four big cruise ship construction companies: Fincantieri in Italy, Aker in Finland, Chantier d'Atlantique in France, Meyer Werft in Germany, and the one in Japan that makes ships for Princess.  (Apologies for what's probably horrible spelling.)

They are MASSIVE operations.  Nowadays the ships cost north of $1Billion each and must be ordered around 5 years in advance.
