I think this is a perfect place to ask.

Plant a pretty garden, and talk about it!  

Make sure it has flowers in it that do well as cut flowers, and which bloom so profusely you can give them freely and casully to a number of girls you might like "just because you did some pruning".  Sweet peas are easy to grow, and if you are somewhere there's a mild winter, you can plant them next month, and they grow and bloom better if you cut the flowerstalks regularly so you can just claim to be a diligent gardener.

The girls that might like you back, will talk to you.

I think you are in the wrong category.  But, you can make a girl friend by just talking to a girl who looks like someone you would like to know better.
