  1. You can't.

You have to work around it.

Be awake when it is, or wake it up in the early evening.

  2. sorry, you can't. changing a hamster's sleeping patterns can cause health problems.

  3. It is possible and even practical.

If you place your hampster in a very dark area during the day and a very bright area at night, the hampster can adjust to the new sleeping pattern. Much like humans and other mammals, the adjustment only takes between a few days to two weeks. Unlike many myths would suggest, it is not harmful to the hampster in much the same way it would not be harmful to move the hampster to another country (and of course continue to keep it domesticated), with a different time zone. The hampster (as well as most humans) would adjust to the change in sleeping patterns within a short amount of time. Actually some of the first American hampsters were imported from eastern countries with different time zones. Their descendants now follow American time zones.

  4. Um...it's always going to be nocturnal whether you like it or not. You just have to put up with it like everyone else! Sorry.

  5. :) You can't. at least I don't think you can.

Try keeping it awake during the day.... exersize ball whatever..

  6. im not sure if u can but worth a try i supose try a dark room during the day and light room at night or try keeping it up all day so it sleeps at night

  7. why didn't you know they work the grave yard shift?

  8. Impossible.  Hamsters are nocturnal because most of their predators were awake during the day so they slept at night (cats adapted :P)

If you're hamster wont mind (doesnt bite, mine dont) then you can wake him up in the middle of the day (cough i do) and let him run around on the floor he'll wake up.

But just play with him before you go to bed and keep the lights off that helps.

Good luck.  if you want a non-nocturnal animal buy a cat or dog or something

  9. You should not have the animal work your time schedule. You work the animals time schedule. You are irresponsible and I can tell.

  10. Take it out in the day and put it away at night. It will soon learn that the best time to sleep is at night when it has peace and quite. It will then be more active in the daytime and less active at night.

It might take a while, but it should work.

  11. u can't make it not nocturnal, but if u play with it during the day it will probably sleep at night.

  12. why would you want to do that?

you should have known hamsters were nocturnal going into purchasing one.

that is how they are naturally.

peple have trained them to sleep at night, but you will seriously harm your hamster by chnaging it's sleeping patterns.

  13. First off, i sure hope you aren't seriously going to try it.

Hamsters are nocturnal and that's just how they are.

You don't make them adapt to how you want them to be.

  14. to make a hamster sleep during the night, place them in a dark room during the day and in a lit room at night. complicated and irritating yes, but it is the only way to trick their little rodent minds.

  15. you can't its like makin a owl blind u can't do it unless u cut out its eyes just make it more tired in the morning and dont let it sleep then it'll go to sleep at night

  16. well you can try to make them say up all day but i don't think it will work
