  3. It starts out with a cardboard box.

the bigger it is, the better the game will be.

You could ask at your local greengrocers, as they sometimes have spare fruit boxes which can be ideal

You need two fruit punnets for goals......lie them at either end of the box and draw a line along the edges onto the box with a pencil. Cut down the lines to make fold-out flaps onto which the punnets can be glued. The players are half a kitchen roll each.

You need six players, three for each team

Once you've cut the kitchen roll tubes down, get some modelling clay and a pencil and carefully pierce a hole through both sides, just above the halfway point.

This is where the stick goes.

The sticks (garden canes ideally) also need to go through the sides of the box.

So make four holes in either side of the box, also by using a sharp pencil and some modelling clay.

Use one of the players to line up the holes to make sure that there's space at the bottom for the players to spin around.Put an elastic band on one end to act as a buffer to stop the garden cane from coming back through the box accidentally. On the other end, make a hole in a cork and thread it on.

Glue in place, and you have a handle.

Alternate so that you have a cork, elastic band, cork and elastic band.Once you've got all the players in position and the canes secured, you're ready to play.

You can play with it now if you like, but for a great atmosphere, get painting and decorating.

This one has a yellow pitch with painted on shells.

A bit of sand on top adds to the effect!  The palm tree goal posts are just painted sweet tubes with leaves cut from green paper or card and kept in place by prising the lid of the sweet tube over the top. Paint the players in different coloured strips, or print off this template which you can colour in and stick onto each cut down kitchen roll tube.

(If you use this template you'll need to colour and stick on before you make the holes and thread the canes through!) .and paint a ping pong ball to look like a beach ball!

The idea of the game is to score five goals before your opponent does.

The faster you spin the players, the harder you hit the ball.

    Good luck!
