  2. A good compost pile has:

    1. Equal amounts of wet materials (cut grasses, vegetable discards) and Dry materials (dry leaves, pine needles, etc)

2.Good moisture level  (You need to keep the pile moist to promote the microbial process)

3.Full Sun!  (You need to have some sun on the compost pile)

4.You need to turn the pile with a shovel/tractor.  It's a good idea to turn your pile and then water it down- repeat the process a few times a week.

You'll notice the tremendous heat being produced in the middle of your pile within just few days to a week.  Your compost will be ready in about 4-8 weeks depending on your raw materials.

  3. build a large contained box and start pouring stuff in there.  then cover it with dirt, mix it around a while until it is a gooey sludge.

now youre good to go.  instant compost.  beware, it smells horrible

  4. Google is full of ideas. Just be patient because it will take some time before you have usable compost.

  5. Multi language composting guide can be found at this blog http://composting.wpblogspot.com/ Hope it help you.

  6. I learned this from an old guy who was good in the garden:

Have a dormant strip of garden in which you can feed scraps, no meat. Use a pointed hoe and dig a groove. Place your stuff, and cover. Mark. The next time you move a little to the side and repeat. At the next planting time use this patch.

The best scheme is to have a compost barrel that rotates with a crank. Remember that you have to supplement soil, fertilizer and water in the mix.

  7. You can use  a garbage bin to make homemade compost. the only thing is to make sure that you put well rotted organic matter – garden or kitchen waste, manures, soil, even paper under the garbage bin. not cat littler, plastic, glass, metal, etc..
