How to make a homemade glacier?

i have a pond and i want to make a homemade glacier this late fall/winter. it can just be a small one.

  1. Do you want a real block of ice, or just something to simulate a glacier? It also depends on the temp, size of the pond, etc.


  2. I don't believe that there are "small" glaciers. It takes a sufficient

    volume of ice/rock to get the glacier to flow.

  3. About the best you can do is imitate the look of a glacier by chilling water as cold as possible without freezing in a squirt/spray bottle and going out on a cold night and applying water where you want it to appear.  Because of the air in the spray, the ice will appear white, like a glacier.  You will have to take care because the water must be above freezing to spray, so you can melt or distort what you have already applied.

  4. You won't be able to simulate a real glacier unless you have cold, cold winters with several episodes of cooling and freezing percipitation.  Glaciers were made over many years of that kind of climate.
