It's hard to make one cheap.

Basically, they mix water (misted) with compressed air.

You can find plans for them online, and can buy plans on

eBay. I would suggest that you Google "home made snow maker"

and change combinations of words like "how to make" and

"snow machine"... also words like drawings, plans, pictures.
