How to make a landing for a naked egg to be dropped without breaking it?

i have a project called naked egg drop. We have to drop the egg from 3 meters high without breaking it. Our task is to make a landing for the egg with materials of paper and tape only. I'm still thinking about the design and what type of paper must be used.. the high of the landing must only be 6 cm thick.. soo.. can anyone suggest any idea?

OK.  Take strips of whatever paper you think feels the softest.

Then take your tape and roll it up into (little) rings. Tape one end to the other.

Then add the tape across the landing site.

then add another layer of paper over the tape.

From there, keep doing these steps until 6 cm.

From the air pockets that you have from the tape, it should break the fall, but not the egg.

Can you clarify this?  Does the landing stay on the ground, and you drop the egg from 3 meters up  (seems like it would have to be pretty big to ensure you don't miss it and hit the floor!)

Or is the landing attached to the egg when it drops?.
