How to make a non-electric doorbell?

I'mm a very crafty kid and I want to make a non-electric doorbell for my room. I just want to know how.

  1. Hi spottydog27,

    I wish I had your creativity when I was younger.  Sounds like this could be a lot of fun.  If I were to suggest something, I would look into a mechanical doorbell as a possibility, especially twist doorbells.  These are fairly basic in design and would probably be pretty easy to put together.  Plus, they have a distinctive sound that would work well for your room.

  2. A dog is a good non-electric door bell.

    In the abscence of a dog, a bell (like at christmas time or on churches) that visitors could ring would work.  The bell could be fastened to the wall or the door.  A rope could be fastened to the dinger in the bell or to the top of the bell (when pulled the bell would swing like in older churches assuming the bell is hinged)

  3. You could buy one, as one guy said.  You could also simply get a door knocker, which has the same effect.  Make sure dad is cool with your plan, as you'll probably be drilling holes in "his" door.
