How to make a person write to you?

I found that, to ask somebody write to you isn't the best way to let them actually write to you.

Is there any trick to make somebody write to you?

you can't make them write you if they don't want to

Ask them to?  If you don't want to do that, then send them a letter that has questions in it and see if they write back?
