We bought a case of frozen Take n Bake Pizza crusts from sams club (19.00 for 17 crusts). I made a pizza normally- adding store bought cheese and sauce. The crust seemed to be chewy on top and hard on the bottom. When we buy the pizzas madein the deli at sams or walmart the crusts are always good- what is the secret?? What am I doing wrong? How much sauce should be put on a 16"? I fixed it thawed .. Thanks in advance.

  1. your crust is under cooked. if you don't want to over cook your toppings, grill or prebake your crust for a few minutes prior to adding toppings..

  2. I bake mine on a pizza stone, works wonders.  When I worked at Pizza Hut (100 years ago), the baking oven was a stone type oven.  If you're using a pan, try corn meal below the crust on top of the pan.  This will keep from sticking.  Try par baking the crust.  Bake the crust a few min (10 min), then add your sauce, cheese and any toppings.  Continue baking for the amount stated on the box.  You don't want to have your sauce too thick, we scooped the sauce on with a ladle than painted the sauce on.  Not sure how many ounces of sauce.  You want it to just barly cover, no bread showing, but not more than 1/4 " thick.
