  1. http://jgiff.net for free hosting and domain name

  2. Try Easy Site Build or Sitebuilder Designs, they have everything you need in building your own website: domain name registration or domain transfer, web hosting, web builder, site maintenance and email accounts. Everything is laid out in an easy to follow step by step instruction. Some of the features included enable you to add your own themes, videos, images or mp3 music making your site unique to you. Pricing is comparable and affordable too.

I hope that I was of some help and answered your question.

  3. Laymans Guide towards How to Create Free/Cheap Website

    1. You need a webspace at web hosting server.

    Recommended :: GoDaddy http://www.godaddy.com

    Free webhosting:: Awardspace,freeservers,netfirm...

    http://www.freeservers.com/

    http://www.netfirms.com/

    2. You need a Domain Name

    like www.yourwebsite.com

Again Godaddy offers Domain names at lowest price available. You can get your website.info for as low as $ 0.99

Well, you can have free domain name like yourwebsite.awardspace.com with free webhosts. or you can redirect your paid domain towards free webhosts.

    3. Web Designing

If you know Html +javascript+flash its a cakewalk, but if you are not equipped, there are loads of free web-publishing softwares available.

Here are a few for the layman:

You can design a website by just creating a MS.Word file with same name of your buttons on webpage and they'll contain all those texts.Besides, you can insert pics in .doc file too. If you are aware(remember first page should be INDEX)

When your website is done take it out of your TEMP folder in

    Document settings>>User>>Local>>TEMP

    OR

you can put your website directly by in built FTP on *rapid website*

    a4desk

    -------------------

    http://www.a4desk.com

This one is a cool , free flash website maker that you can try

4.Next you need to upload your designed website files on webhost.

You can use any of the free FTP softwares like:

CuteFTP ----just punch in your domain name +user id+password to enter the server by simply connecting at FTP.

Now can put your website pages ..and you are done!

Note:: Always keep the folder structure of your designed website in your mind while loading it at server.

    Cheers:)

  4. Yes it would. You have to buy hosting and a domain name. The good thing is that most hosts give a free domain name (like something.com) when you host with them.

Here are some hosting plans from the cheapest to the more expensive ones:

    1. The cheapest option I know is:

    http://www.hosttell.com/one/

$3.75/month but they don't offer that much disk space and options.

    2. Godaddy has a couple of nice plans:

    http://www.hosttell.com/godaddy/

    3. For $5.78/month I recommend Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html

Their standard price is $119.40/year ($9.95/month if you pay yearly) but they currently have a promotion. You can use the promo code PLUS at sign up page and get the $50 discount + 2 Free domain names. This way you get them for $69.40/year ($5.78/month). You can use their huge Disk Space and host unlimited number of sites on a single plan.

    Disk space: 500 GB

    Bandwidth: 5000 GB

    2 Free domain names

    Price: $5.78/month ($69.40/year)

    4. If you're willing to pay $20+/monthly for hosting I recommend:

    http://www.mediatemple.com

    http://www.slicehost.com

  5. If you have no idea what you are doing and this is a first time experience I would highly recommend using a professional design company and not trying to do it yourself. A search for inexpensive web design came up with this - http://www.heritagewebdesign.com/web/ - They have a large portfolio and the sites look pretty good and it is pretty inexpensive - says sites from 199.00.
