How to make a room darker?

Does anyone know if there is a way to tint or paint the ceiling light panels in a room to make the room darker? I already removed 2 of the 4 bulbs in the fixture and I have to have the other 2 for it to work. Is there a company that sells tinted panels, or is there a paint I can use to darken them?

There is a product from 3M, a window film, that you can cut and roll into place that is for windows.  I suppose you could place it on these as one of its purposes it to remove glare.  You would have to read the package to see if there would be any reason not to.  The product comes in Amber, Silver, Nickel and the ever popular clear.

I think Home depot sells this product.

About a hundred years ago, when I was younger I painted my windows black and bought a blue bulb for the ceiling. However there's so many beautiful and modern design in the world today, for what you need that I recommend you go to Home depot with your question. I bet the helpful sale people there, will find a solution.

If there isn't a HD, where you live, visit or call any paint/Hobby store.  They should be able to recommend a paint or material that will meet your needs.
