  1. I've actually tamed several stray cats over the years, so I'll do my best to offer you what I've learned.

The important thing to remember about taming animals is that you have to move SLOWLY. Accept that they are probably not yet comfortable around you, so approach them slowly and cautiously. Avoid making sudden movements or loud noises; try to avoid startling them. Offer it food, then back off. Animals can often be scared and mistrusting, if they feel afraid around you they won't look away from you to eat or let you touch them. Their memories aren't as good as a human's, so it's important to reestablish a feeling of safety every time you see them. As they start to trust you, make sure you don't betray that trust (they'll remember that). Don't expect a cat that ate from you one day to automatically eat from you the next. Slow and steady is the way to go.

Also, it's important to remember that cats aren't like dogs. They generally don't take to training very well and don't respond to the same commands. Cats are above all, cats, and they will act like cats, which means that they will be moody, aloof, and unpredictable. They are teases. But once they decide to like you, though it may take some time, they will like you forever.

Pay attention to body language. A low whipping tail, ears back, and flattened whiskers are good signs of aggression or fear. Ears and whiskers perked forward indicate interest, and a tail high in the air (sometimes like a question mark) normally mean that the cat is in a good mood. A lowered, hunched body equals uncertainty, an arched back equals extreme aggravation, and a light, tall stand equals comfort. Purring is a good sign. Try staying still in a place near the cat, not touching or moving, and smiling and blinking slowly. Move a little closer a bit at a time. Good luck!

  2. You can't train a Cat like a Dog. Forget it! 7/31

  3. First of all, do you know it is a stray and not someone's indoor/outdoor cat?  It could be a pet and trying to entice it away would be theft.

Secondly, cats like to stay in their own established territories.  When you enter its territory it comes and checks you out.  Once it's done that, it goes away to do other things that cats consider important.  It won't want to follow you outside of its territory because that would cause conflict with other cats in adjoining territories and would risk it becoming lost and being unable to get back home.

Please don't assume it's a stray just because it's outside and it approaches you.  You have to accept that it will give you some attention but it is more attached to its home patch (where it possibly has owners) than to someone passing through its area.

  4. Hand feed it 'till it trusts you enough.

  5. Feed it some tasty food which makes it go yum.And have some patience, the cat is getting used to you.Give it some toys and caress it often.Soon one day,you might feel a cat rubbing against you and following you home and you'll see it'll be that same cat.

  6. If you love cats very much, then cats will come to you and even play with you!

You can also give them some food, or play with them with some toys and stuff like that!

Hope i helped, and may God be with you!
