I've never made a tax return before as I was a minor and earn't less than $6000 but I have realised from my employer that I had paid a small amount of tax in past years and was wondering how I would be able to get back this money as I earn't less than tax free threshhold in past years.

  1. Ask your parents for help. My dad showed me how to do mine when I started working. You can do it on the internet easily. But if you have deductions and/or other investments or shares or anything like that, it pays to use an accountant as they can help you get a better return.

  2. go to a taxation ageny and file for a tax return if you earn less than $6000 AUD a year or if you are under a certain age. a tax return can only be filed for at the beggining of every financial year.

  3. If you understand it you can use e tax (software u download to complete tax online) for this 2007-08 financial year. As for the previous years head to your Local Tax office and they will give you everything you need to complete these. If this is your fisrst time at doign tax yourself try to get someon who has done it themselves to help you as it is quite complicated when you first start doing these. If this is no help go see an accountant.
