Well, here is this teacher who has taught me a lot of things but I don't have this teacher anymore. Is it possible to make him my mentor? He is so understanding and I feel good when he talks to me. How do I do it?

  1. It depends if he wants, he can always be a mentor outside your school or uni system. Better though, if he can be appointed or volunteer under a special program, unless you are far ahead in your studies.

I have had personal (unpaid) mentors in my field for years, and some paid. In the long run it was the unpaid ones that gave the most because they really believed in me.

It might be good to mention it to him first, he will know the rules, and what he can and can not do, and does and does not feel capable of doing.
