  1. Depending on how elaborate you want to be, you can take a couple of approaches.

    You can buy a kit where you grind your own mirror and make a simple Newtonian, with an eypiece lens, or you can get a couple of lenses of different focal lengths and mount them in a card board tube (or just on a board; telescopes don't HAVE to have tubes.)

  3. You will require two Convex Lenses one of whose focal length should be comparatively much greater than the other.

    Both lenses are fixed in two different tubes which are capable to slide into each other.

    The lens with greater focal length is fixed in the outer tube and the lens with smaller focal length is fixed in inner tube. The position is then adjusted by sliding the two tubes to get the best image.
