How to make a web page? I work for my local union and we are wanting to make a web page to keep

Question

I work for my local union and we are wanting to make a web page to keep people updated on meetings, and education opportunities. Would it be better to pay someone to make the page for us, and we simply update it? How much would something like this cost? is it ok to go with an online company, because i don't think anyone local could do it. or is this something we can do on our own? We don't want myspace, or geocities. we want our own website as in ourname.com.

While no one in our group has this knowledge right now we have extremely bright people willing to learn. Would it be better to send them to a class to do it?

If you are going to try to explain the process, please be prepared for more questions and thanks for any help :)

well you could make it your self in a program like dreamwever and get find a good web hosting site.

Well if its for a company and you want a domain (yoursite.com) then i would suggest a website builder. With a website builder, ir requires no experience in website making, or slightly little.

I would probably not hire someone for that because it requires no work at all. Simply register your domain.

also you guys may need slight help on the easy website builder but once you get the hang of things, it wont be that hard.

i do have some experience with websites, after all i own one XD, but i dont use a easy builder i code it myself ;) (easy builders are practically the same, just less work, and slightly less freedom you can do with designing. Such as if you wanted to make your own layout the way you want exactly you cant with a easy builder, or it would be difficult.)

If you want to make your own website there are two that I know of that are FREE to use. You won't have your own domain name though. You can go to weebly.com or synthasite.com for ex. of the domain name you'll have. yourdomainname.synthatsite.com and same with the other.

/\ is where you will make your domain name.I perfer both, but more on the weebly.com one because that one lets you know if anyone has been to your website.Before you hit the edit button it has this graph thing that will show you if people have been there.I think it depends on a certain number of people before it begins to show on your graph for your website. To have your own domain such as yourdomain.com as far as I know you have to pay for that.

use microsoft word or dreamweaver... if you want own domain name free, try to Internet Information Server(IIS) or search it  at any file sharing site with search tag "Free Internet Server".
