How to make a1992 mitsubishi eclipse fast

I have a 1992 mitsubishi eclipse

5 speed

non turbo

fwd

I race this car in dirt track and am limited to things i do such as a turbo is illegal, awd is illegal, but the inside of the engine i can do work with, i already have my head milled i didnt know if you guys had any other suggestions, such as computers or if stroking it would be efficient but that is a little pricy, so if you guys could help me out that would be great

great motor and can take a lot of hp. the best way to unlock the power is in the heads of these motors. get a port and polish job 1mm oversize valves 272 cams and a 5angle valve job for starters.(approx. $1,500-2,000)other wise the Fidanza aluminum flywheel is the best and way lighter. balance shaft elimination kit convert to manual steering last i would raise compression with new pistons and a stoker kit( the stock crank is a forged crank so keep it as long as you can) knife edge the stock crank to help with weight and spinning. anything you do to lighten the spinning mass will make the motor rev faster. any other questions you can email me @ [e-mail] my current car is a 90 with about 400-450 hp(turbo of course)

machine work..... lots of machining ... and balancing.... how limited are you ?.. you could add longer rods for more rpm and  a lighter flywheel. the valves and cylinder head  can be "massaged" a bit to make them flow better.  port matching helps... tuned headers... cam and springs... its the little stuff most people miss and then spend alot of money trying to find or test new parts... trans re-gearing "close ratio" changing the final drive gears..(ring and pinion)  different lobe centering on the cam and some timing work  .   i could go on but, i bet you get the picture...  have fun on the track and good luck with it !!

Pretty much your typical NA tuning.   Like intake system, header and exhaust system, new pistons, ecu, larger manifold, etc.  Anything thats ment for NA
