My girlfriend has a great backyard with a little hill.. we wanted to run a really long slip-n-slid down the hill (its not big at all)..

we're all in our twenties so a little kid slip-n-slide from walmart will not do.. lol

Will a tarp work? If so, how do I keep it tacked to the ground??

Advice please!!! thanks! : )

  1. For a really great slide do a little prep work first. The ground will have to have a gentle trough shape with no rocks or sharp bumps. The tarp will not work. It is too textured. Get some heavy grade plastic sheeting from the hardware store to make this. A minimum of 6mil. Fold several times and spike to the ground or drive spikes through a 2x4 into the ground layed flat. It is important not to have anything that can hurt you as you go screaming by. The last step is a water pump. Remember to take extra care with the shaping to gentle out ANYTHING that has a sharp bump. Some sand or a thin layer of straw if needed. ENJOY.

  2. Garbage bags. they will be easy to slide on with the water. Do not try tarps, they are toooooo rough. trust me, just try and find something to hold them down with, maybe something out of plastic but only on the sides

  3. get really long nails or spokes to put in the ground like the camping kind. garbage bags may also work too.

  4. Get a tarp, and tac it down with tent tacks and have 1-2 water hoses running down hill from just before the edge of the tarp, but make sure the tarp is wet and water is flowing down it before you decide to go down it.. My family tried this and it was honestly way better than a normal slip n slide. Goodluck! [:

  5. Yes a tarp will work use tent stacks to tack it down.

  6. put a few tarps down tack them down with tent stakes, and buy a giant bottle of dish soap, slather yourselves and the tarps down with soap and water, and go for it.
