I know you need magnets and a metal as a conductor, but I need to know everything else. How should the magnets be placed, where should the metal be placed, which should be moving around the other, what kind magnets are best, which metal is best, ratios of metal to magnet, formulas to calculate voltage and amps produced by generator? Like I said........everything else. Remember, I'm trying to produce the most electricity possible; So if that means buying some really exspensive materials, so be it.

  1. Professionals have been designing and building high efficiency generators for a long time. Your best bet it to buy one that meets your requirements and then see how you can improve it.

But if you really want to design it on your own, you have a lot of reading and studying to do.  Start with the book mentioned in the other answer.

  2. Use this book to do the design:-

If you want to produce a lot of electricity, then you need a lot of mechanical energy to start with. Most generators have efficiencies of around 90%, so just see how much mechanical energy you have available, and size the generator design appropriately.
