  2. See below.

    1)  Practice your speech several times in advance

    2)  Use index cards to write notes so that you can glance at them while giving a speech

    3) Speak loud and clear so that everyone can hear you

    4) Try maintaining eye contact with the teacher and always looking up at the students because you don;t want to look like you are reading off of a piece of paper

    5) Stay within your topic and make sure that your speech is not too short, your teacher will give you a time limit

    6) Make sure and do lots of research for your speech.

    7) Try practicing infront of your friends and ask them for their opinion, the worst feeling is choking or getting nervous infront of your classmates and not sounding credible.

    8) Most importantly be serious infront of the class and do not laugh etc, I am pretty sure you will be graded on all of these things.

All throughout college I have given speeches and I have learned these tips.  Use the site below on "public speaking"

  3. Pick something you're comfortable talking about and do explicit research on the subject. It depends also if you're trying to make a point, or if you're simply delivering information. If you need to support a point of view, then research both sides of the argument and use plenty of supporting information. Good luck!
