How to make ecofriendly room frangrance with lemon?

I would like to make a bird-friendly room fragrance that I can use straight away. I have fresh lemons, so does anyone have a recipe for a room spray that I can make?

Do you have to boil the lemon peels first and then put in the spray bottle, or just place straght away?

You could throw the lemons in a garbage disposal and grind them up. It makes the whole room smell good...well the kitchen at least haha...works with limes, and oranges too.
