How to make excuse for jury duty?

Do you call them or write them a letter or do you tell them your excuse at the court?

You need to show up and get disqualified.

You can get disqualified by the prosecution pretty easily by subtlety letting them know you don't trust the police, or by the defense using the same method only changing your distrust to whatever the accused's crime is.

Don't be too obvious, but make it clear you have a distinct prejudice that will not be swayed by any argument.

Some one will kick you off the jury and you get to go home till next year.

If your notification of jury duty has a phone number, call them and explain you have a health condition that prevents you from serving.  Also, If you are seeing a doctor for this condition they them know that as well.

Many jury notifications have a questionnaire for you to complete. Include the information about your health condition on the questionnaire.

You can follow-up your phone call with a letter but you don't want to start with a letter because it may not be received and answered prior to the date you are expected to report.

Health problems (including mental issues) are reasons to be excused from jury duty.  Don't worry. It will get resolved.

Well I guess you will have to change becasue you HAVE to do jury duty.... no matter  what unless you are in the hospital... or i think you will go to jail..

Try the truth.  If you get called and questioned you may aggravate one side enough that you will be excused.

I'm manic ...I wrote on the Jury sheet I was mailed that I was manic and on medication.

It's true and it worked.

In my experience I have always been in the military . I called them and told them I was station somewhere else. It was that easy.

It should explain the acceptable excuses and how to notify them in the jury summons. It sounds like you may have to show up and explain it to a judge.
