If your on the team, respect. You got to earn respect and you'll make friends. If your like a cheerleader, well, you shouldn't have any problems making friends. If your watching the game, try and complimenting there game, but make sure they win first.

Basically just talk to them when you're on the bench, and don't be a show off. :)

When I first started playing basketball, I was sooo scared that I wouldn't make friends and everyone would hate me, but it was the exact opposite. We're all one big group of friends. Just be yourself and everything should be fine.
