  1. Okay, are you talking about, how do you paint models?  That's an entire book of answer in and of itself, with varying opinions on how it's done.  If you's asking how to build a snap-together model from a kit, I would HOPE that one is sort of obvious.

As to supplies, get yourself some acrylic paints, preferrably Testors Model Master.  You can use Citadel paints, the variety used in Warhammer 40k miniatures decoration, but the technique is completely different.  For brush selection, I prefer those cheap, white-handled plastic Testors brushes for my large work.  Use the tiniest brush you can find for details.  Sprue cutters and a box cutter are also wonderful tools to use when assembling.  Finally, the tiniest-tipped black drafting pen you can find, expect to shell out some money for it.

To paint with Testors paints, simply paint the area evenly, in thin coats.  Take extra care, that you do not fill the panel lines with paint, as these will be needed later.  Now, remove the parts from the trees with the sprue cutter, leaving some of the tree still on the part.  Use the box cutter to carefully shave these off, to minimize the scars left on the model itself.  Assemble, then touch up the holes in the paint from where the tree still was attached to the pieces, maybe even do an extra coat entirely.  Last step, is to take your drafting pen, and fill all the panel lines with black ink.

Using the Citadel method, first make a base coat entirely in Chaos Black, make sure it gets into the panel lines, but doesn't hide them from view, as they are still important.  Next, begin a technique known as "dry-brushing", where you get the absolute minimum paint on the very tip of the brush, and scrub the paint onto the surface, coloring only the most raised edges of detailed areas.  Do this as many layers as necessary until you get the look you want.  No need for the drafting pen, but you may want to use it to touch up areas colored by accident.

    Hope this helps.
