How to make guy friends in high school?

Ok I'm not in high school though but I will be after this school year, and I've just gone through so much **** with girls since like 2nd grade but 7th having to be the worst. I mean it wasn't physical drama or backstabbing but so much talking about me behind me back and I just couldn't even tell if any of them even liked me anymore. And it just didn't make sense because I was new in the beginning of last year and every single one of them somehow came to me and the ones that were just dying to be my friends are the ones that are the most fake. I'm tired of going through this and I do have like one guy friend that I talked to like that from my old school, but I really don't think he wants to talk to me anymore, idk. Anyways I want to start talking to more guys as friends and I do want at least one girl that I can trust, but do you think I'd be better off finding a girl that doesn't go to the same school or doesn't really know or talk to the people that I'm around which would mean less drama and an older girl that was once in my shoes? And should I be going out of my way to make friends with girls or should it just happen naturally or some other way?

well, most of my friends are guys, and i'll just tell you that one of the things that guys really don't like is a girl who pretends to be something else then who they really are just to talk to a guy.  it's just plain stupid, and sad.  Just be yourself and good people will befriend you.  Unless you're a cold mean backstabbing person of course.

I actually think that a good balance of guy and girl friends are really important. I'm a Junior in high school and i thank god that i have both,cause yes, girls are so freakin dramatic and backstabbing becomes a pain in the ***.

I know u have a bad experience with meeting girls that are fake, but make girl friends that don't know you, and separate the real from the liars. U need some girls that u can trust and hang as just girls.

Having guy friends are pretty awesome. When i'm sick of the drama, they don't bring that. And most actually listen really well when u just need to talk. u can just be yourself around them. =]
