Question:

How to make gymnastics tape grips?

I have these huge rips in my hand and they are from vigorous bar work, so does anyone know how to make a make-shift grip from athletic tape until I get real grips? I looked on the internet, but the instructions are really confusing.

If anyone could answer, that'd be really helpful, thanks!

  1. Okay this is a bit confusing but I will give it a try... take a piece of tape maybe 4 inches long... fold it over widthwise.. so it is like still 4 inches long but half as wide...this is the part for the finger loop... okay then take a piece of tape really long.. like 10 inches long put it sticky side up on a table... okay... fold that first piece of tape you made so it is like a half circle... put it at one end of the long piece of tape so it makes a loop your finger can go in... then fold over the long piece of tape so it is like only 5 inches long but the same width... so now you have a 5 inch tape with a loop at the top... put the loop over yoru middle finger and then tape the bottom around your wrist... geeze that is confusing... ask another gymnast or coach at your gym! :)
