Question:

How to make hand-made postage stamps like in Griffin and Sabine?

I'd like to make my own fictional postage stamps for a fictional country, like in Nick Bantock's Griffin and Sabine. Drawing the picture in the stamp is the easy part, but I have no idea how to duplicate the characteristic postage stamp perforations. I'd like to make it look as authentic as possible.

It's going to be on real paper so something that only works on a computer screen won't help much. Any ideas?

  1. Craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Michaels sell Fiskars scissors. And Fiskars has a pair that cuts out the "stamp" shape.
