How to make him feel special on our wedding day/his birthday.

My fiance and I are getting married on his birthday. I would like to do something special for him, but can't think of anything. I was going to get him a groom's cake with a cake topper that was a woman with a guy in a headlock taking him to the alter. We have weird senses of humor and have been together for 9 years and are just now getting married. He said he didn't want to get married until 30 so we are getting married on his 30th birthday. Any ideas for something fun and light hearted? The wedding is pretty non-traditional and is in an inside/outside venue.

  1. When I read the title of your question, I immediately thought "birthday groom's cake", but then I read the rest of your question and see that you're on the same page :)

I would have the groom's cake, and then make it a fun birthday cake, with "Happy Birthday, from your wife" written on it or something. I think your headlock idea is cute,  too. Gotta love people with sick senses of humor! It makes family get-togethers that much more fun:)

Your wedding day will be a smash. Good luck!

  2. this may sound crazy but either tell him or buy a card and tell him that you will be his slave for the day and he can have all his wishes fullfilled for the day.-blurey

  3. Have a surprise round of "Happy Birthday" at the reception. See if you can make him blush with the kiss you give him afterwards.

Have a giant birthday card at the reception instead of a guest book.

  4. My daughter recently got married on her now-hubby's birthday.  He slept in that morning while she got up to go get hair, etc done.  She put Happy Birthday signs up around the house and left a special birthday gift and card on his favorite chair for him to find when he woke up.

At the wedding reception, she had a special b-day cake made for him and the DJ had everyone sing Happy Birthday to him.  It was great fun.
