Cannot use a gate to block it, that would take up a lot of the room.

  1. Have boyfriend, husband, or dad buy some wood and build little boxes to fit around them with slits in them so the heat can still blow out in the winter. Cut the slits little enough so she can't get her hands in there, but it can still blow some heat out...For right now you should be good (it's summer pretty much everywhere, right?) When she isn't crawling around, remove the boxes so the heat can radiate normally.

  2. Move your bed in front of it then. But first I would let the baby crawl over to it and then tell your baby NO in a firm voice. They should start to understand that a loud firm voice means no-no.

  3. Ya, I feel ya. When we moved into our new house, there was a radiator in every room!! And they get very hot when the heat is on, so hot that if you touch it for longer than a second or two you would get burned and have a nasty blister. So I was really freaked out too. But actually, all 3 of my girls (7, 3, and 1) stayed away from them. The baby touched it once, and quickly pulled her hand away because it was hot, and she hasn't touched them since. There isn't really a good way to cover something like that, so I suggest you show her that it's hot, let her touch it (with you standing right there and holding her hand of course so she doesn't actually burn herself) so she can see that it's hot. Chances are she'll stay away from it. Kids are smarter than we think sometimes, even at that young age. I would worry more about her like stuffing crayons and paper in the heaters LOL.

  4. you need straight jacket for your baby, so it won't crawl.

And if you don't want to do it just let it play with knives.

And still don't want to do it, neuter it

  5. Hire a bear

  6. Try Setting up guard gates to keep her/him away, the ones where they keep them from going down stairs.

  7. I worked in a daycare that had the baseboard heaters and we never had any issues. I know it's summer, but go ahead and turn them on high and see how hot the actual thing gets, it should not be too much. Also how old is the child, if he/she is just now learning to crawl you can teach him/her over the summer to keep away from the baseboards and by the time winter comes not have an issue.

If you really are going to worry about it then You can buy fireproof or fire retardant material to make a "box" to cover the baseboards just cover the top and about half the side. I would piano hinge the top to make it serviceable.

  8. Frankly nothing is going to safeguard your child but you.The chicken-wire someone suggested would cut the little fingers if they grabbed it (even if it seemed like a good idea) So the only  I can suggest is loving patience

  9. you could keep it in a pen, only take it out to play with or feed it, otherwise you will have to constantly watch it. babies are curious and will put anything they find in their mouth

  10. What's more important - room or your baby's safety.  You're probably only talking one winter - after that the baby should be walking and know the meaning of "hot".

  11. watch her

  12. Get a pack and play and only let the baby crawl in there.

  13. hmmmm, I have no good answers, maybe let her crawl around a different room and close the door while you're in there watching her.

  14. idk

  15. The only think I can really think of.. is start now telling the baby no, no... do not touch... HOT!

just keep reinforcing this statement over and over.   Even if it is not on now it will be soon and the baby will learn.

  16. Duct tape the kid to the ceiling.

  17. Confine your baby in a large enough area away from the heater there for the baby can crawl

    without touching the heater.

  18. The first experience, is the only safeguard you'll need. When we lived in an apt., we never worried about it after they learned it was hot to the touch! It generally does not go over the temperature of 120 - 140 degrees, which is hot, but will not burn them, once their senses and reactions takes over...........................

  19. How about getting one of those play-yards...  You can make them as big or as small as you want...

    This one is cute:

You could even create it as large as the entire room, just a couple inches from the wall... It is a bit costly, but it would keep you from having to watch her every single move...

  20. You either have to block the heaters or limit where she can go.  Maybe you could make little cages (for the heaters) out of chicken wire or some other small fencing.  It would only have to be a few inches bigger than the heaters and wouldn't impede the airflow.

  21. Well you could put her in a Pen.

But that is liek BABY jail.

The best thing to do id just to constantly watch what she is doing.

It sucks, but that is the only way to let her be free and still safe.

Otherwise if you cover up the boards, or put somethign infornt of them,

She coudl either crawl over it, or it could become a fire hazard.

    GOOD LUCK

  22. can't you put something heavy ontop of it?

i would not know, i don't know what they are :S

  23. put furniture in front of them. Like, a nice looking table in front of the ones by the door. or something like that. make sure the furniture is functional too.

Best of luck to you, and ignore all those artards who are giving you the idea to murder your baby. =(

  24. make sure all the sockets have forks near them. make sure all exposed wires are within reach of the baby. leave your back door and pool fence open

  25. Baseboard heaters are the least of your worries, door hinges, plug sockets ect.

Normally the baby will notice that something is hot, my 2 younger brothers and 2 nieces never touched the radiators when they were crawling about. Baby may only be small but they can still sense heat, their not as stupid as you think, and their skin is alot more sensitive so just worry about getting devices to stop her jamming her fingers in doors. (I know about these plastic things you can buy that stop the doors closing fully leaving enough room for a pair of hands.)
