How to make internet faster?

when i was at my house back home it was so fast but when i moved to another city for college this house has like the crappiest internet it takes sooooooo long to download a video even youtube and it psises me off! it cant be my laptop because i justbought it and is very fast! and the internet connection has only 3 bars instead of 5 in here but back home i have 5 bars! how do you increase the bars?! my landlord has the internet upstairs so i have no idea what he is doing with it

One way would be to wire to hos system instead of wireless.  Wire is always faster.  The signal traveling thru distance and floors with degrade even if he isn't using it.

The other is to get your own connection so you don't have to share bandwidth.

The bars represent signal strength and should not really affect your speed.  Either someone else is downloading something and taking all the bandwidth or it is just a crappy internet service provider and that's the fastest it can go.

it could be what your land lord has for internet like his download speed maybe slower then what it is at home. or you hae unneccersary progams running on the computer. and since there is probably more than one user on the service it may make it slower. and the bars or the connectivity so haw far you are from it
