  1. It doesn't work at all.

  2. I've been lifted by four people in this manner, and they were just using their fingers. I left the ground so quickly I thought I was going to go through the ceiling.

I was in a seated position, with my arms out in front of me, two people (one on each side) lifted my knees, two people (again, one on each side) lifted my arms half way between elbow and shoulder.

I went from highly skeptical it would work to giddy laughter in record time. It's an amazing sensation, almost like flying. I didn't feel any pressure on my arms or legs, and the people lifting didn't seem to be exerting themselves much at all.

  3. It works if you have enough people exerting enough pressure.  Basically, if the person you're trying to lift weighs 100 lbs and there are 5 people helping, each person's hand is lifting 10 lbs.  If there are 10 people helping, each hand is lifting 5 lbs.  Since the weight is distributed, it's easier to do with a lot of people.
