  1. I actually tried this once using those sticky magnetic strips that you can buy at craft stores.  But I couldn't get the car to stay on the track.  The magnates would repel so much that the car would just get pushed off.  I think the concept could be made to work, however.  Plus it costs under $10.  You'd just need to design a car that wrapped around the rail so all the forces could balance out.  Good luck!


  2. You need a lot of money to start with. The sheer cost would be in the thousands of dollars. If you were able to pull it off, you would need specialized T rail for the guide wheels and a series of magnets that run under the tracks to repel the ones on the bottom of your train.
