  1. The coolest way I found to make money was with a business. Something that has a minimal cost to get started, has a turnkey business model, has support from people who make lots of money running it and is setup to make money like clock work from the beginning. Find out for yourself. http://snipurl.com/3erp2

  2. I would always hesitate before trying anything on the internet: if making money was so easy why wouldn't everyone you know be doing it? A lot of these survey things either pay really poorly or take a lot of time to make a lot of money.

My advice is to do the following:

If you get an allowance, start saving that! You don't have to save all of it, but you could definitely put some away every week and still be able to spend some on yourself.

You could also do things around the neighbourhood: do you know anyone who needs their gardens taken care of, their lawns mowed, their weeds killed? What if you offered to organize garages? Wash cars? Walk dogs? Babysit?

The trick is to find out what people need and see if you can help them out. That way you will be providing a service to them and they will be paying you for it. For example: do you know any elderly people who may want to pay you to carry groceries from the store for them?

These are just a few of the things you could do to earn a little extra money. I have written a more extensive article (with more suggestions) on my blog, which will also show you potentially what you could make: you can find it here

  3. Hi there,

Gosh, so many spammers on a 13 year olds question... Shame on you all!

From the time I was 11 till I was old enough to get a workers permit in my state which was at about 14 or 15 (you might check on that for your own state) I always babysat for neighbors and co-workers of my parents and for younger kids wanting to make money working, there are a lot of stay at home parents who also need "mothers helpers"

This job might include light cleaning, helping with the children (with the parent still there at the house).

Craigslist.org is a great way to advertise your skills.  I use it frequently myself for my interior design business.    If you're unfamiliar with CL... It's a totally FREE on line service that has various categories for jobs etc.  But, you can also post what you want to do.  I would advise you as a parent myself.... to talk with your folks about posting before you post on CL though, just to be safe!

Keep in mind that if you don't have any experience with watching young children, being a mothers helper first is a good way to hone your skills with child care and build confidence with the parents of the children.

A parent should be willing to pay you for your work and not expect

super hard, laborious work from a $4 - $5.00 per hour teenager.

I generally give my sitters (though in truth they are much older usually) about 8.00 per hour to watch our two kids.

For a mothers helper I think asking for 4.00 -- 5.00 per hour at your age is not unreasonable as long as you work hard!

Another couple of options I just thought of depending on where you live, many small privately owned farms need help with various duties.  Picking for one.

But again, restrictions may apply with your younger age.

    Never hurts to ask!

    Or mowing lawns...

I remember when I was a kid all of the kids who did not babysit

would walk, door to door asking if anyone wanted their lawns mowed.

They would either offer them a price or the home owner would say

"How does 10.00 work for you?"

You'd be surprised at how many home owners would LOVE to have their lawns mowed and generally don't have time to do it.

It seems nobody does this any more and believe me, I always wanted someone to come to my door to offer this service to me!

    One last tip!

Be polite, hard working, professional and mature with your potential work.  It goes miles with us older folks!

    Best of luck to you!

    Cilla
