  1. Very few dogs are cut out to be attack dogs. If you are serious about this, you must consult with a qualified Schutzhund trainer to do it well. These trainers understand that teaching a dog to be aggressive can only be done with highly stable dogs who understand a true threat and won't attack the mailman, your second cousin who's visiting for the first time, etc. AND, check with your homeowner's insurance. You could get into big trouble if your dog bites someone else, especially if you made the dog aggressive.

My advice - get an alarm.

  2. You don't need to get your dog to attack strangers.  You're going to get yourself into a whole lot of legal trouble, and legal liabilities if you train your dog to attack "sturngers."  The only thing you need to teach your dog to do is BARK when someone comes to your home.  The bark is what deters criminals from entering your home.

  3. have the balls to do it yourself... your dog will back you up if you treat it well enough!

  4. If your dog has what it takes to be a protection dog, you take him to a trainer. But what if the person that enters the house isn't a stranger that needs attacking ? What if it's your mom, your sister, the neighbour, the paperboy ? You will be in trouble and your dog put to death.

  5. you do realize that even though there is someone uninvited entering your home, they can sue you and they can also have your dog put to sleep! Having a guard dog is good, but an attack dog, could not only hurt you, but could eventualy make your dog loose its life!

  6. im sorry but that is a HORRIBLE idea!!! Why on earth would you do that?? train a dog to attack people, what a great way to get it put down to sleep  because an owner wanted it to attack people??? next thing you know it is going to attack young children and not know the difference between bad and good people,  please, do your dog a favor and dont do this. its a good way to lose your dog and he will leave earth forever if you do this.

  7. You need profession training for your dog if you want to turn it into a protection dog.  However, most dogs do not have the temperament for the training.

  8. What kind of dog do you have?

First off it takes a dog that has excellent OB training and the right temperament to be a protection dog.

That is why they have PROFESSIONALS that train these kinds of dogs.

Has your dog been temperament tested or evaluated?

    Probably not....

You sound like a law suit waiting to happen....leave your dog alone or take him to a professional!

  9. u can try feed ur dog with beef. this makes it fiercer.. other than that u also need to train it... anyway, dog has their own instinct in judging good or bad person. u ca n try talk to it often. it will listen to u.

  10. You get a dog bred for this purpose - that's about $1,500 or more because these dogs are professionally and properly bred. Then you put the dog through several obedience courses that can total over a grand or two. Then you find a protection dog training service and take a test to see if your dog is compatible.

If the dog is, then you pay another couple of grand for the training. If not, then you just put upwards of five grand into a dog that won't be able to do what you want it to do. You either give up and enjoy that well trained dog or try again with another couple of grand.

You do NOT train a dog to do this kind of thing on your own. That can result in an aggressive animal that will need to be put down. A professional trainer is needed to train the dog how to properly guard - which basically means they teach you to teach the dog how to hold off an intruder until you get there, at which point they will respond to any command you give while you call the police.

Even if you have a break in you NEVER tell a dog, trained or not, to attack that intruder. That CAN result in the person suing you, believe it or not. They may have broken in but if they give up YOU end up using lethal force.

So either forget about it or commit to proper training. That means $$$.

  11. Don't try.  A dog owner is responsible, without limitation, for any injury or damage that the animal may cause.
