How to make my high school's varsity team if i was JV last year?

Last school year I played soccer on my school's JV team. It was my first year playing soccer on an actual team, and I was just a decent player. Didn't really stand out. I usually played any offense position, mostly forward. This school year though, we got all new soccer coaches, and I've been practicing a lot at home. What should I do to impress the coaches and show them I deserve Varsity? What should I practice at home? Anything helps, thanks!

  1. practice everything.. I'd say do running.. long distance but also sprints as well.  kick a ball around when you can.. practice juggling, tricks, anything. You dont typically do tricks and stuff in games but it does have a BIG impact on how well you control the ball.. helps you learn to use all parts of your foot and legs.  practice using your weak foot because thats something a lot of players dont do.. you have a far better chance of making the team if you can play on both sides, rather than one.  Also just make sure when you do any drills or anything at try outs, dont stand flat footed.  Stay on your toes and move around.  It shows your willing to work more and not just stand around.  But if you can, get a friend or join a team and just play. thats the best practice you'll get

  2. well, if you have the time, you could join a rec team outside of school, like AYSO, to impress the coaches. Or you could just do conditioning on your own, like bleachers, running, and shooting, and make sure you do it at school, so the coaches might see you, lol. And then when try outs come, just make sure you're on your best game and try hard. That should make your coaches think you're worthy of being on Varsity.

  3. Practice everything. Dribbling shooting I really hope u make varsity!!!:)
