right now my horse's tail is in sad condition. its tangled and not very thick, i have tried to comb it out several times before, but without success. i recently ordered some Mane N' Tail detangler to try on his tail. i was wondering if there is any way to make his tail thicker, and silky looking, and if there are some other products that work better than Mane N' Tail.

  1. you want to use something like baby oil to remove the tangles or hairspray that black people use..it has oil sheen in it!!! i do not brush their tails real often...maybe once a month....also u also have the option of buying a real horse hair extension...but they are expensive...i probably would only go that way,if i did horse shows!!!!

  2. MTG works great!

it stinks, but gets the job done.

also, braid it in a tail bag, or in vet wrap after it has been cleaned.

this keeps the tail clean and detangled.

  3. M-T-G. Best thing you can use on your horse's tail. It will help it grow and get thicker. Only down side is it smells really bad.

  4. you can put MTG on the tail bone

and also dont brush your horses tail, that will cause breakage, just pick out the tangles with your fingers.

also you can wrap your horses tail it will protect it from breaking off, and add length and fullness.

  5. try metho and baby oil mixed together they make horses tales realy shine and smooth hope this helps leah

  6. you could use volumising shampoo

buy some magic cowboy conditioning serum

    its really good

  7. MTG!!!! it is a stinky thing but, it works, and when you brush the tail and if you come across knots, dont yank put cowboy creme. If you want the tail longer.

  8. Most importantly, don't over bathe your horse, period.  When you do bathe them, just use ShowSheen, and start from the end of the tail and work up, there is NO tail that is that bad that cannot be untangled in this manner.  If you want to show your horse and the breed regulations allow it, then get a fake tail and use it until you get the real one grown out and in good condition...good luck.

  9. I always have the same problem, try and wash out his tail with shampoo like pantene pro-v and let it sit. Then wash it out and use some pantene pro-v conditioner and let it sit for like ten minutes, while the conditioner is still in the tail try and brush the tail out. Then rinse it out, then take and brush it again and take some show sheen and spray some in the tail and then braid the tail and let it sit till it dries. Then take the tail out, brush it and put some baby oil in it to keep it moist...to help to keep the tail from always knotting up braid his tail and buy a tail bag to help it from getting messed up or tangled..hope this helps. This site is the show sheen..

  10. well i don't know what exactly works other than what has already been posted but i'll tell you that main and tail sucks, it's a waste of money

also, it depends on the breed of the horse, i have appaloosas and they have naturally thin manes and tails, which is just fine in the show ring even, if you have a good judge that acknowledges that charecertisic of the breed
