  1. I would go buy one of the install yourself alarm systems. Attach sensors to all of the doors and make sure those windows are secure.

  2. I think that perhaps you are getting overly anxious about this.  Most burglars like to burgal an empty house, they don't want trouble either.  Investing in an outside light with sensor may be a very good idea to reassure you.  If you lock and bolt your doors etc. you will be as safe as anyone else.  You have two dogs to warn you of intruders so please stop worrying.  You are becoming an over anxious person because you are responsible for a baby by yourself.  Please, please try to relax and unwind, I am sure you and baby will be safe. Good luck to you.  PS I don't know where you live but in UK you can get police to check your house for security and they will make suggestions if necessary.

  3. 1.  Put a sticker on your door. "this house protected by ??? security."  (fake sticker)

    2.  Have sensor lites that go off if anyone comes up close to your house.

    3.  Put a fake camera where people will see it.

    4.  When you're by yourself, put your cell phone on 911 and have the police neighbors name handy for the 911 operator.

    5.  Lock your cars at night.

    6.  Pray and thank God he's taken care of you so far.

  4. Sounds like you are pretty secure already, but if in need for more protection, all you are missing is the 'alarm system'.

  5. Most break ins are by someone who was in the place within the previous few weeks, know who visits you. You have nothing that is worth the time of a professional thief.  So the main concern is random house prowls or personal attacks.   Get several cans of pepper spray and a holster to carry them wear them at all times. Make your self an uninviting target, Also carry a loud air horn like from a boat supply.  These should be enough to discourage most prowlers from being near you.

Motion detector lights are an option for your yard, they install the same as any other light fixture, most reasonably competent people could put one on a box that is already in place. If you need to install a new one, call a qualified professional electrician to do the work, running the power is the main issue.

The main concern is your fear of intruders, most will leave you alone if you seem to be able to defend yourself.  Check in to local self defense class for women. Much of this is how to protect yourself and how to make your residence more secure. The list of things you have already done  seem to cover what is reasonable except to add lights, and thorny rose bushes bel;ow each window.  Good luck.

  6. Many websites have useful security items like alarms and door braces.  Here's one example www.safetytechnology.com

  7. sounds like the dog is enough...warn people of your dog with a sign in the yard
