Question:

How to make my smoothie thicker?

Hello everyone. I just started using my first blender and must say I enjoy it very much. I have a "puree" function but everytime I use it...It comes out too liquid.

Here is my recipe:

1cup of Vanilla soy milk

1 Banana

1cup of mixed berries

1/2pint of broccoli sprouts.

2tbsp of hemp powder.

I always use the "puree" function but it always comes out as a drink. I would like to have it thick enough to use a spoon.

Any ideas on how to thicken it?

I tried cutting the soy milk by half but still too liquid....

Oh, please take note I'm a new vegan as well.

Thanks for all the help.

Bye.

  1. I have exactly what you need

    XANTHAN GUM POWDER

you can find it at any health food store. I use it all the time to turn my smoothies into ice cream. You just add more or less to get the thickness you want. Xanthan Gum is used in food processing to thicken all kinds of foods.

  2. put yoplait vanilla yogurt in it!!!

    =P

  3. add more fruit, less milk, and if you like oats... that will do the job.

  4. Crushed ice will do it.

  5. yogurt will thicken it up.  Sonic uses yogurt in their smoothies and it's like a shake.

  6. put the least amout of liqwid....and put more icream

  7. add some silken tofu, or maybe icecream

  8. FREZZE TEH BANNANANA

Peel it and cut it up first.

  9. ice or yougurt

  10. I would reduce the amount of soy milk and add more banana.

  11. Try some frozen yogurt or mango pulp. I once tried a half a spoon of flaxseeds freshly browned and ground...made my smoothie thick and a slight slimy texture and more nutrition to add to if you prefer.

  12. Add some tofu or more bananas and ice. That will definitely make your smoothie thicker.
