How to make my xbox live connection faster?

i am connected directly to a modem, i have a satellite connection. when i start matchmaking it will find games but no matches. i got to over 400 games before it would quit searching. this is on Halo 3 of course, other games just would not load at all

Switch from satellite to DSl since DSL is fast and it doesn't lag.

Satellite Internet is never good for online gaming, ever. It's fast yes but it's not a steady connection. I honestly don't think theres a way to help with that.
